It's Finally Here!

On January 20, 2010, Tyler gets a phone call from Dean Brough who is the Postmaster at the Myton Post office. He told Tyler that he has a big white envelope with his name on it from The Office of the First Presidency. The Mission call had finally arrived, so Tyler left in the Ford Ranger to get the precious letter. It seemed like it took him forever to get back home, but he finally got back. Then he tells us that we have to wait a couple of hours before it was opened! He invited some friends over to share the good news with them. Grandma and Grandpa Tonks came over also. This was their second grandson that received his mission call. Tyler took his sweet little time to open it. When he finally took it out, it read...Dear Elder Rasmussen: You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. You are assigned to labor in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months. You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language.
He was excited! His friends were also happy for him. Tyler was excited to learn a language, now he will be able to talk to Bart, Jon, Ian in Spanish. Maybe Adam to. Congratulations Tyler, We are so Happy for you and know you'll be a great missionary. I hope the people of Ohio are ready for you! Well miss you lots!!!

  1. I talked to Aaron about this whole deal and he says they don't speak spanish in Ohio. They have some weird dialect of French Canadian AngloSaxonian Slavic based tongue. I think it's called Redneck.

Oh, I've got one for you that will help you a ton in tracting Cleeeve Land. What's the difference between a hick and Redneck? Give a hick a roll of duct tape and he'll fix his shower curtain. Give a Redneck a roll and he'll fix his transmission. It's pretty much like separating the wheat from the tares.

Good luck homey. I'd love to talk to you about it sometime.

    addie.
